Why are tickets to bitcoin conferences so expensive? (Reddit Bitcoin)

I’ve never been to any bitcoin conference and I am considering attending one. However, I found that the tickets are quite expensive.

I am curious why the tickets are so expensive? Is it really that expensive to organize the event? Are the speakers getting paid a lot? What is making the money?

For people who attended the past bitcoin, how was the experience? Was it worth the money?
